After a catastrophe, know which claims to question.

Veriteus helps claims teams pay the honest majority fast and send scarce investigator time where an account doesn’t fit the file.

Claim call: water damageWednesday, April 30 · 3:15 PM · Call: firstLive

Real-time transcription

Policyholder

Hi, I’d like to report a claim on my home insurance.

Adjuster

Of course, I’m sorry to hear that. Could you briefly tell me what happened?

Policyholder

Sure… I came home yesterday afternoon and noticed water coming through the ceiling in the living room. At first, I thought it was just a small leak, but when I stepped inside, I realized the damage was much worse. Turns out a pipe burst on the upper floor, probably in the bathroom, while I was at work.

Follow-up questions

  • When you got home, how exactly did you notice it? What was the very first thing you saw?
  • What made you think it was much worse than you expected?
  • Is there any other room above the living room besides the bathroom?

98,900 claims from one flood.

The September 2024 floods produced 98,900 insurance claims in Czechia, worth CZK 20.3 billion. It was the third most expensive event for Czech insurers in 30 years. Months of normal intake arrived within weeks. The number of adjusters stayed the same.

Pay the many. Ask the few.

Insurance Europe estimates that detected and undetected fraud make up about 10% of claims expenditure in Europe. Most of the money goes to legitimate claims. Triage starts with them.

  1. Report

The policyholder reports the loss by phone or on a claim form, as today.

  2. Analyze

Veriteus checks the statement against policy data and the claim file. Where there’s a call, it also reads voice signals.

    How it works
  3. Follow up

Where the account and the file diverge, the adjuster gets an alert and a suggested question. Routine claims pass without added friction. You set the threshold.

Product concept, simulated claim

Your adjusters decide.

A flag is a reason to ask. Veriteus doesn’t decide about people, infer what someone feels or replace your claims specialist. The person asking makes the call. It never denies a claim.

Runs where your data lives.

Veriteus runs on-premise or in an EU cloud.

On-premise

Inside your infrastructure, without access to other systems or the internet. Recordings, transcripts and statements stay with you.

EU cloud

In a cloud in the European Union.

Trust & Security

Test it on a flood you’ve already settled.

Take a past event with known outcomes. We run the analysis on the old files inside your environment, with no effect on any live claim. You see how many claims get flagged and whether the questions help.

  1. Pick a past event

  2. Analyze the files in your environment

  3. Compare flags with outcomes

Your results stay yours. Pilot results are confidential and shared only under NDA.

Questions from claims teams

Does Veriteus approve or deny claims?

No. It marks passages where a statement and the file diverge and suggests a question. The adjuster reads the signal in context and decides.

Will it slow down honest claims?

You set the threshold for a flag. Claims below it move through your standard checks with no added step.

Older voice-stress tools didn’t work. How is this different?

In a field study funded by the U.S. National Institute of Justice, two commercial voice-stress analyzers did no better than chance. Veriteus also checks the statement against the claim file, and each flag comes with a follow-up question, so the adjuster can test a concern before acting on it. The science page has the details.

How this differs from voice-stress analyzers.

Does it connect to our claims system?

Through an API. Integrations are scoped per deployment.
